We had a marvelous day!
We started with morning work, focusing on capital and lowercase letters, rhyming, and sight words. We then moved right into reading groups, where kiddos worked on segmenting sounds, sight words, blending, ABC books (Ii page), handwriting, and listening. After groups, we went outside for recess. Please continue to send hats, coats, gloves for recess as the weather gets colder.
After recess, we did our math lesson (more/less). The kiddos are also working really hard on writing their numbers correctly. After math we did our morning message, calendar, and Daily News routine. We then read the Alpha Tales books (Iguana on Ice). We finished our morning with a picture guess (all the items in my bag started with the /i/ sound.
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, lunch recess, library, math centers, snack, show & share, quiet time, afternoon recess, and free choice.
Please note, I will be sending more information about our December field trip this week. We need as many volunteers as possible! The more the merrier! :) The trip goes from 9:10 AM until 1:30
PM.
Please let me know if you can join us!
Important Information:
1. I sent home a "Disguise the Turkey" project. This is a fun - VERY LOW STRESS - project for the kinders! Please let your child use whatever items you have at home! No need to do an extra shopping trip, unless you want to! ;)
2. We have P.E. tomorrow.
3. Please let me know if you need a new transportation tag!
4. NO SCHOOL - Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 27-Nov. 29
5. Dec. 12th is our Downtown Kindergarten Field Trip. It will look a bit different this year, as we are not taking the STA buses. We will take school buses downtown instead. We still need at least one parent for every two students in order to go. Please let me know if you have questions!
