Today was awesome!
We started with our morning work (focusing on the letter Kk, how to correctly write it, and hearing the sound). We then went right into reading groups, where kiddos worked on reading, writing, memory, and listening. When groups were over, we went outside for recess; however, after two seconds of outdoor play we had to come back in due to rain. We finished with indoor recess.
When recess was over we did our Happy Camper interview and name book. The students are working very hard on their handwriting, letter sounds, and following along.
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, quiet time, music, 5th grade buddies (we're doing a STEM project together and we worked on our plan today), afternoon recess, snack, show & share, and free choice.
Just a loving reminder that we have P.E. tomorrow. Please send your child in shoes they can run in!
Important Information:
1. Now that we've been in a school for a few weeks, transportation tags are starting to fall off/not match what kiddos are doing at the end of the day. Will you please let me know if you need a new tag, if you'd like me to laminate one for you, or if you have any questions. I will be having a sub next week and want to be sure tags are on and correct.
2. NO SCHOOL - OCTOBER 11 (FRIDAY)
3. The on-line conference scheduler will be open on Monday, Sept 30 and will close on Oct 10th. Elementary Conferences are Oct. 16-18 (Half-Day 10/16, No school on 10/17 & 10/18)
4. I have started working on the volunteer calendar. It's not finished, but will be shortly. I only post reading group and communication folder volunteers on the blog. I will contact other volunteers directly for the remaining jobs/times.
5. If your child is having cold lunch and has any nut products in their lunch, please put a note on the outside of their lunch box so we can help direct them to the appropriate table. We know this is an extra step, but it is SO important to help keep all kids safe. Please also tell your child if they have nuts and if they're having cold or hot lunch.
