We started our day with morning work (focusing on the letter Mm, the sounds, how to form the letter, and reading). We then moved right into reading groups, where we worked on letters names, sounds, reading, name writing/math, memory, and listening. We went outside for a chilly, but fun recess with our kindergarten friends. After recess, we worked on our math lesson (sorting by number). We finished off the morning with our Happy Camper interview, morning message, and calendar time (we are learning place value, months of the year, counting, and patterns).
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, second steps (learning social skills), quiet time, snack, P.E., afternoon recess, and free choice.
The kinders earned ANOTHER marble party!!! They voted and decided they'd like to do a movie (we'll watch a 20 min. Story Bots or Magic School Bus) and stuffy party. Their stuffed animals should be no bigger than their forearm, please. We will do the party on Monday (September 30th).
Important Information:
1. Reading Groups start on Monday (September 30th) at 9:30am. If you volunteered to do reading groups, please double check your dates and let me know if something doesn't work for you!
2. Now that we've been in a school for a few weeks, transportation tags are starting to fall off/not match what kiddos are doing at the end of the day. Will you please let me know if you need a new tag, if you'd like me to laminate one for you, or if you have any questions. I have a sub next week and want to be sure tags are on and correct.
3. NO SCHOOL - OCTOBER 11 (FRIDAY)
4. The on-line conference scheduler will be open on Monday, Sept 30 and will close on Oct 10th. Elementary Conferences are Oct. 16-18 (Half-Day 10/16, No school on 10/17 & 10/18)
5. The volunteer calendar is up on the blog! If you are viewing from a devise other than a computer, you may need to scroll down to the very bottom of the page and click "View Web Version" and then you'll be able to see it. To scroll through the calendar, just simple place your curser/finger over the calendar and scroll. The entire year is listed. :)
6. If your child is having cold lunch and has any nut products in their lunch, please put a note on the outside of their lunch box so we can help direct them to the appropriate table. We know this is an extra step, but it is SO important to help keep all kids safe. Please also tell your child if they have nuts and if they're having cold or hot lunch.
