We had a great day together!
We started our day with our Happy Camper interview (Crosby) and name book. We then welcomed Groovy Gabe in for another APEX fun run lesson. This time, Groovy Gabe taught us about being truthful. After our APEX lesson, we did our first morning message and calendar time together. We learned why we do calendar ("To learn the months, days of the week, the date, and the year"). We also counted how many days we've been in school (4) and we discovered that we actually have a total of 180 days!
We were able to join all our kindergarten friends outside for our morning recess. We played, sang, pushed our friends on the swings, and played tag.
When recess was over, we came in and learned all about our classroom library, how to check out books from our classroom library, as well as the three ways we can read a book (1. Read the words 2. Read the pictures 3. Retell the story). We got a short practice time, too! Kiddos were able to read books all around the room! They loved it! Before lunch, we also had a little time to work on our first week of kindergarten packets. The page we did today was our self portrait! :)
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, centers, extra recess (no specialists today), snack, quiet time, last recess, and free choice.
Important Information:
1. Please help your child get pledges for the Fun Run. It is our only fundraiser this year! All pledge packets have gone home! Please let me know if you have any questions!
2. Please tell your child if they are having hot lunch or cold lunch each day. This will help when we do our lunch count. Also, please tell your child if they need to sit at the peanut table (meaning, you packed PB&J or they have items that contain or were processed with nuts). Kinders get very confused and it's difficult to look through every kiddos lunch before they sit down.
3. You can now order spirit wear on line! Every Friday we have spirit day and our kinders LOVE to participate! Please check out the link below and order as soon as possible!
