We had a great Wednesday!
We began our morning with a fun surprise for the 3rd and 5th graders by holding letters that spelled "3rd (then 5th) graders you can do it!" and did a little chant to wish them luck before testing today! All of the kids did so great with this and it was so fun!
Next, we had morning message, calendar, daily news, and then we had a great recess outside! After recess, we came in and began reading groups. During groups, we practiced blending sounds and reading, handwriting with the decodable text, sight word practice, and listened to a story.
After reading groups we had math in which we practiced making 10 with number bonds, drawing dots on dominoes, and addition writing equations. Next, we wrote our narrative introduction for a new story!
Our afternoon was filled lunch, recess, a math number line activity, science (living animals/things growing up and their needs), music, snack and show and share, quiet time, recess, and free choice centers!

Please continue to practice the Magic Five! If your child can do all the parts, please practice writing lowercase letters correctly, counting past 100, counting on from a number (not starting at 1), and writing all our sight words.
