We had a fun Tuesday!
We began our morning with literacy morning work in which we worked on word families, completing a sentence, and unscrambling sight words.
Next, we had morning message, calendar, and daily news. Afterwards, we had a fun recess outside! Then, we came in and began reading groups. During groups, we practiced blending sounds and reading, sight word practice with a search and coloring a patterns with the letters, and listened to a story.
After reading groups we had math in which we practiced the number line as a strategy for addition and subtraction and then did subtraction with equations and objects. Next, we did a staff appreciation writing gift. The kids did such a great job with this and are becoming such amazing little writers!
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, library, quiet time, snack and show and share, a kite art project with our 4th grade buddies, recess, and free choice centers!

Please continue to practice the Magic Five! If your child can do all the parts, please practice writing lowercase letters correctly, counting past 100, counting on from a number (not starting at 1), and writing all our sight words.
