We had a fun Tuesday!
We began our morning with math morning work in which we practiced our subtraction fluency.
Next, we had morning message, calendar, daily news, and a sunny recess outside! Afterwards, we came in and began reading groups. During groups, we read and did addition and subtraction story problem practice, science (made a grocery list and went shopping for our each of our animals), handwriting with a decodable text, and listened to a story.
After reading groups we had math. During math we continued to group objects into a a bundle of 10 and "ones" left over in preparation for creating teen numbers. The students are already doing so great with these! Next, we had narrative writing. We started with our narrative writing chant and then we wrote our narrative writing introduction together.
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, library, quiet time, snack and show and share, 4th grade buddies with a popsicle art project, recess, and free choice centers! During library, a grant was awarded and Albertsons handed out fidget spinners to each of the students. The students were sent home with these in their backpack and have been told to ask for your permission. As a school policy, it has been asked that these stay at home please.
