We had a fun Tuesday!
We began our morning with literacy morning work,
morning message, calendar, and daily news.
Next, we had a fun recess outside and then we came in and began reading groups. During groups, we practiced phonemic awareness and our readers, handwriting and our decodable book, sight word practice ("my"), and listened to a story.
After reading groups we had math in which we worked on the different combinations to make 9 with manipulatives. After math, we had writing in which we practiced our "when, where, who, what" chant and some examples of stories. We will continue to go over parts of a narrative writing introduction this week.

Our afternoon was filled lunch, recess, library, 4th grade buddies, snack and show and share, quiet time, free choice centers, recess, and read our big book.

Please continue to practice the Magic Five! If your child can do all the parts, please practice writing lowercase letters correctly, counting past 100, counting on from a number (not starting at 1), and writing all our sight words. Click the picture below to enlarge.

3. Library Books were collected today and new books were sent home.
44. An important questionnaire (green half sheet of paper) was sent home last week in communication folders. Please indicate whether or not your child will be returning to Prairie View next year and return this form as soon as possible!
5. Yearbook order forms were sent home last week. Please return them by May 11th.
