Monday News

We had a great Monday!

We began our morning with Alphatales with the letter "Jj." Next, we had our morning message, calendar, and daily news.

Afterwards, we had a fun recess outside and then we came in and began reading groups. During groups, we introduced our new theme this week and worked on our sounds and letters, handwriting and our decodable book, ABC book with the letter "Jj", and listened to a story.

After reading groups we had math in which we worked on subitizing and the different combinations to make 9. Subitizing is the ability to tell the number of objects in a set, quickly, without counting and develops math fluency.

Here are some links to some videos about subitizing that we are going to watch this week. I have attached two links to videos, one is a silly but fun for the kids to get practice with this important skill.

Our afternoon was filled lunch, recess, centers, and PE. After PE we got to watch a little bit of the 4th grade egg drop experiment outside, snack and show and share, quiet time, free choice centers, recess, and a royal reader celebration.
