We had a fun Friday!
We began our morning with literacy morning work. We practiced writing beginning and ending sounds, unscrambling sight words, and filling in words in sentences.
Next, we had morning message, calendar, and daily news. We had a fun recess outside afterwards and then came in to start reading groups. During groups, we worked on sight words, phonemic awareness, and read our readers, handwriting, listening to a story, and sight word practice.
After reading groups we had math in which we had small group centers focusing on subtraction.

Our afternoon was filled lunch, recess, narrative writing elements, PE, music, snack and show and share, quiet time, free choice centers, and a wet recess!

Please continue to practice the Magic Five! If your child can do all the parts, please practice writing lowercase letters correctly, counting past 100, counting on from a number (not starting at 1), and writing all our sight words. Click the picture below to enlarge.

3. Communication folders were collected today.
4. Communication folders will go home on Monday.
5. An important questionnaire was sent home yesterday in communication folders. Please indicate whether or not your child will be returning to Prairie View next year and return this form as soon as possible!
6. Yearbook order forms were sent home this week. Please return them by May 11th.
