We had a great Thursday!
We began our morning with math morning work. We practiced drawing objects in a ten frame, addition equations, and representing numbers in different ways.
Next, we had a yo-yo assembly since we filled our hawks nest together as a school. The assembly was really fun and the kids loved it! There will also be yo-yo' s available for purchase if you would like. The forms to order yo yo's will be sent home on Monday in the students' communication folders. Next, we had indoor recess. After recess, we had reading groups. During groups, we worked on vocabulary, phonemic awareness, and reading a decodable text, handwriting, listening to a story, and sight word practice.
After reading groups we had a math in which we had small group centers focusing on subtraction.

Our afternoon was filled lunch, recess, library, an art-a-baloo project, snack and show and share, quiet time, recess, and free choice centers!

Please continue to practice the Magic Five! If your child can do all the parts, please practice writing lowercase letters correctly, counting past 100, counting on from a number (not starting at 1), and writing all our sight words. Click the picture below to enlarge.
