We had a great Thursday!
We began our morning with literacy morning work, morning message, calendar, and daily news.
Next, we had a fun recess outside and then we came in and began reading groups. During groups, we practiced phonemic awareness skills and read our decodable, sight word practice, and listened to a story.
After reading groups we had math in which we worked on our number bond parts and whole with dominoes. After math, we had writing in which we practiced our narrative writing and our "when, where, who, what" chant as we discussed some examples of stories.

Our afternoon was filled lunch, recess, library, domino and number bond practice, an extra recess from earned red hawk awards, snack and show and share, quiet time, free choice centers, and practice for our spring concert.

Please continue to practice the Magic Five! If your child can do all the parts, please practice writing lowercase letters correctly, counting past 100, counting on from a number (not starting at 1), and writing all our sight words. Click the picture below to enlarge.

3. Take home books were collected today and new books were exchanged and sent home.
4. An important questionnaire (green half sheet of paper) was sent home last week in communication folders. Please indicate whether or not your child will be returning to Prairie View next year and return this form as soon as possible!
5. Yearbook order forms were sent home last week. Please return them by May 11th.
