We had a fantastic Friday!
We began our morning with literacy morning work in which we practiced beginning and ending sounds, sight words, and completing the sentence with a word. After morning work we had morning message and calendar.
Next, we had a sunny recess outside! Afterwards, we came in and began reading groups. During groups, we practiced phonemic awareness skills and sight words, handwriting, an Earth Day book, and listened to a story.
After reading groups we had math in which we worked on combinations to make 10 and story problems that make 10 with number bonds, objects, and equations and a video. After math, we had writing in which we practiced our narrative writing and our "when, where, who, what" chant as we discussed some examples of stories.

Our afternoon was filled lunch, recess, PE, music, snack and show and share, quiet time, free choice centers, spring concert practice, and recess.

Please continue to practice the Magic Five! If your child can do all the parts, please practice writing lowercase letters correctly, counting past 100, counting on from a number (not starting at 1), and writing all our sight words. Click the picture below to enlarge.

5. An important questionnaire (green half sheet of paper) was sent home last week in communication folders. Please indicate whether or not your child will be returning to Prairie View next year and return this form as soon as possible!
6. Yearbook order forms were sent home last week. Please return them by May 11th.
