Thursday News

We had a wonderful day together!

We started with morning work (focusing on sight words, blending, and writing). We then transitioned to morning message (practicing the sight words here, was, and they). We also continued our practice with the letter Uu and the /u/ sound. Calendar time was filled with counting, place value practice, and number bond practice. We also published our Daily News paper.

We were able to go outside for recess. The sun was even out for a bit and it felt amazing!

After recess, we came in for reading groups. During groups we practiced sounding out words, blending, counting by tens, handwriting, and listening.

We went right into math after reading groups, continuing our focus on number bonds, and equations.

We continued our study of lions and began transferring our writing for the organizer to paper. Some kiddos were able to start their sketch; however, no one was able to finish (we will complete it tomorrow).

Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, library, art, and free choice centers.
