We had a fantastic day celebrating the amazing Dr. Seuss!
After doing our attendance, lunch count, flag salute, and Hawk "I" pledge, we made our very own Cat in the Hat masks. I was sure to take pictures and will definitely include them in our memory books!
We were able to go outside for recess. It was chilly, but the sun was out and it felt great!
After recess, we came inside for reading groups. During groups we finished our books about seeds & plants, worked on letter sounds, sight words, handwriting, and listening.
Once reading groups were finished, we created our very own Dr. Seuss bookmarks. Then, with bookmarks in hand, we got out our special Dr. Seuss books and read around the room. I don't think there is anything sweeter than hearing all the little voices sounding out, rhyming, and reading all at once.
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, Cat in the Hat (all about weather show), PE, music, snack, show & share, quiet time, and free choice centers.
