Happy Friday!

We started our day with a number bond math lesson. Then, because it was bear buddy day, the students read to their bears around the room. Everyone chose to read their newly made Brown Bear, Brown Bear books. After our buddy reading time, we did our morning message and calendar time. 

We weren't able to go outside for recess because it's so cold. However, the kiddos had a great time during indoor recess.

During reading groups we practiced sounds, blending, sight words, handwriting, and the kiddos also had some iPad time. When reading groups were over, we did math (more number bond practice). 

Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, class party, PE, music, snack, show and share, quiet time, and free choice centers.

Please continue to practice the Magic Five! If your child can do all the parts, please practice writing lowercase letters correctly, counting past 100, counting on from a number (not starting at 1), and writing all our sight words. Click the picture below to enlarge. 

Important Information:

1. Communication folders were collected today.

2. Take Home Books are due on Monday.

3. Silverwood reading log forms were sent home (if students read for 10 hours at home, they receive a free Silverwood ticket). The forms are due back on March 9th (I'm sorry, but we are not allowed to accept late forms).

4. Class picture day is 3/2, as well as personality pictures. Forms were sent home earlier this week.

5. Upcoming Dates to Note:

-March 16th - NO SCHOOL (snow make up day)

-April 2-6th - NO SCHOOL (Spring Break)

6. If you have extra baby wipes, we are running low and could use some more!

7. Dr. Seuss' Birthday is March 2nd; however because it's picture day we will be celebrating with wacky outfits/hair and our favorite Dr. Seuss books on March 9th!
