Happy Thursday!

We had a wonderful day together!

We started our day with morning work, morning message, calendar, and Daily News. We then transitioned to a whole group reading time. During this time, we read a non-fiction book all about bears. We identified and shared facts we'd learned with partners and then the whole group.

We were not able to go outside for recess; however, the kiddos had a great time playing with puzzles, the hot potato, and choice bins.

During reading group time we focused on the Bb, the /b/ sound, sight words, and listening.

We then transitioned to informational writing (this week we've been studying bears). We reviewed the new facts/information we learned early in the day and then we reviewed how to use the graphic organizer. After chatting about our job, the kiddos went back to their seats and independently filled out their organizer (many kiddos included extra facts as well).

Once we were done with our organizer, kiddos put their papers in their writing boxes and we moved on to math. Ms. Leifer continued to teach us about number bonds. The students are really catching on quickly to this concept!

Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, library, snack, show and share, a bear art project, quiet time, and free choice centers.
