We had a wonderful day together!
Our day started with Morning Work (focusing on initial sounds, putting sight words into sentences, and finally reading & writing CVC (consonant - vowel - consonant) words. We then moved right into our morning message, calendar, and daily news before going out for a chilly recess.
After recess we did our reading groups - focusing on letter ID, letter sounds, blending, sight words, handwriting, and listening.
We also started our new writing form today - informational writing. We again played the fact or opinion game and then practiced giving facts about different animals (e.g cat, dog, and snakes).
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, library, our Octonaut movie party (filled with animal facts), snack, show & share, quiet time, and free choice centers.

Important Information:
1. The Take Home Books were collected today and will be returned tomorrow.
2. Please continue to practice the Magic Five. Magic Five progress reports were sent home before break. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like support with practice ideas! I have also attached the next set of sight words to practice. In addition, if your child is ready, you can have them practice counting/reading beyond 100 and place value.
3. Please remember to utilize RAZ Kids for reading practice!
4. Just a loving reminder that our classroom is nut free! Please double check your child's snack - as they cannot eat it if it has nuts (or was processed in a nut facility).
5. Please continue to send in Box Tops. We have ten days left!
