Tuesday News

What a fabulous day!

We started the morning with a practice lock down drill. The students did a beautiful job following directions and listening. After the drill, we did the Happy Camper interview and name book. Once we finished the book, we went right into our whole group reading lesson. I re-read the selection School Rules and we practiced asking/answering questions, reading with expression, and identifying the /m/ sound.

We then moved over to the morning message and calendar time. We focused on our sight word and letter Mm (/m/ sound), as well as counting and place value today. After calendar, we went right into our Daily News.

Recess was outside and the kiddos had a blast!

After recess, we had reading groups; where the kiddos worked on sight words, annotating text, reading, and listening.

When groups were over, we went right into our writing time. Specifically, we worked on what a good opinion needs and how we give our opinion.

Before lunch, we did a quick math lesson on "counting paths." Being sure to only count each object one time, so that in the end, we have the correct number of objects.

Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, library, show and share, quiet time, another whole groups reading lesson (focusing on Mm and the /m/ sound in text), and our marble party (movie).
