We had a wonderful day together!
We started with our regular Happy Camper routine, shared reading (focusing on the /m/ sound and asking questions), morning message, calendar, and Daily News.
We went outside for a fun (& chilly) recess. Just a loving reminder that we will continue to go outside (even when it's cold and/or snowing), so please send coats, hats, gloves, etc. with your kiddo.
After recess, we went right into reading groups. The students worked on letter ID, letter sounds, main idea, picture/text evidence, handwriting, and listening.
When groups were over, we worked on our opinion writing. We're continuing to work on giving our opinion, along with our reason. In addition, we have added writing our opinion & reason (using our kindergarten paper).
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, library, art, show and share, quiet time, and free choice centers.
Important Information:
1. The on-line conference scheduling site will be closed after midnight tonight. If you haven't yet scheduled your conference (or if you need to double check your time), please do it asap. :)
2. I collected communication folders today. I apologize that I forgot to give you a heads up about this yesterday. Communication folders will come home again on Monday (10/16).
3. Take Home Books were exchanged today. Thank you to everyone for filling out the orange form and returning your books.
4. Conferences are next week! I can't wait to meet with all of you and share all the things your kiddo is doing in kindergarten!!!
