Monday News

What a fun day!
Our day started with the Happy Camper interview, morning message, calendar, and Daily News. We then went outside for our kindergarten morning recess.

Just a loving reminder, please teach your child how to put their coats on (especially if their sleeve gets turned inside out), and how to zip their coats. I've attached a video link for teaching children how to put on a coat. Please let me know if I can support you in any other way.

After recess, we went right into our reading groups. Students worked on letters, letter sounds, sight words, building, handwriting, and listening at the listening center (Bear Feels Sick).

Our poem this week is Jack Be Nimble. We practiced rhyming and substituting our name for Jack's. We all jumped over a candlestick, too (just to really act the part). :)

In math, we are continuing our practice with "hidden partners" - the two parts that make a whole. This is obviously gearing us up for addition and subtraction that will come later in the year.

This afternoon the students had lunch, recess, P.E., show and share, snack, quiet time, and free choice centers.

Important Information:
1. Communication Folders came home today. Please look in them and take out any "left at home papers."

2. If you haven't yet, please return any school paperwork to the office.

3. The volunteer calendar is up and on the blog. Please check it out and let me know if you see any errors. If you are trying to view the calendar from your phone, please scroll to the bottom of the page and click "view web version." We will start the volunteer calendar next week! If you have questions about the calendar, please feel free to email me.
