We started at the calendar rug to go over our targets and gave the target experts their targets. The targets were:
Target #1. I can write words using the sound card.
Target #2: I can read and write the sight word "like".
Target #3: I can finish a pattern.
We then went back to our seats and did the "Playful Patterns" math activity (Target #3). Then we we decided who would take home the Happy Camper Bear and book, did calendar. After doing our Daily News, we worked on adding one more to our math problems. We had indoor recess today, so the kiddos got to play in either Mrs. Snider's class OR Mrs. Flynn's class. After recess the kiddos went to reading groups where they worked on the /s/ sound, writing words with Ss, writing/reading the sight word like (Target #2), handwriting, and listening (Pumpkin Town). We ended our day with a "best guess spelling" activity. The kiddos used their sound cards to write different words (Target #1).
Important Information:
1. I think everyone has a homework packet now. Please let me know if your child still needs a packet.
2. Our classroom is set up for RAZ Kids (an online book resource from A-Z). It is the same company that does our take home book and you can find your child's level and choose from a number of titles at their level. Your child should have their username and password now. Let me know if you have any questions!
3. Picture Re-takes are tomorrow - Thursday, 10-27.
4. Our Halloween Party is this Friday, 10-28. The AM class will have their party from 9:40-10:40am and the PM class will have their party from 2:10-3:10pm. Kinders wear their costumes to school. Just a loving reminder that the costumes can't have blood, guts, and/or weapons.
5. Cookie Dough pick up is Friday, 11-4.
6. Please be sure to mark December 8th on your calendar! The kinders will be taking their ALL DAY field trip to downtown. I have quite a few volunteers, however, we can always take more! :) If you haven't already, please just let me know if you'd like to join!
