Happy Monday!

We had a great day today!
We started our time together by learning all about the letter Ii. We read a book called Iguana On Ice, guessed which pictures started with the /i/ sound, and guessed what was in my alphabet can (it was an inch worm). We then transitioned to our message and calendar time. Today we focused on identifying numbers. We then did our Daily News and the Camp Ranger answered the question, "Where can you go?" The Camp Ranger then answers, "I can go..." After Daily News, we did a mini lesson on writing, specifically focusing on capitals at the beginning of sentences, spaces, and punctuation at the end. We talked a lot about what we liked about Thanksgiving and then the students went back to their desks to write (again, really focusing on the items listed above). After writing, we had an indoor recess with Mrs. Wittwer's class. After recess, the students worked on their one-to-one counting strategies during math. We ended our time together with a non-fiction book called On The Go. The book introduces kiddos to non-fiction text features, but also the idea that a lot of non-fiction books don't have illustrators, but photographers instead. Our PM class also had library today.
