We have a fun week ahead!
In reading we'll be practicing the letter Bb, the /b/ sound, and how to write it. We'll also be working on reading/spelling all our past sight words, as well as our new words (you, and). We're working really hard on determining if two words rhyme and creating our own pairs of rhyming words.
We will be studying bears this week and doing an entire informational write about them. Today we started by watching a short bear video and reading a couple bear books. Tomorrow we'll read another bear book and then fill out our bear graphic organizer.
We are continuing to work on hidden partners in math, but now we are putting them into an equation. We're also trying to make 10 in different ways. If you can, it would be great to practice math facts 0-5 at home (if your kiddo is ready for more, that's great too)!
Pick-a-time is open to schedule your child's conference. I've attached the directions to my email, but please let me know if you have questions or need help!
Important Information:
1. Prairie View Drama Club presents the Wizard of Oz this Thursday (1/30) at 6:30pm.
2. Half Day - January 31st
Students are dismissed at 12:45pm.
3. Wednesday, February 12 - We will celebrate Valentine's Day. If you'd like to come help the kiddos pass out/read their cards that would be great. We DO write names on cards in kindergarten, so I will send home the class list asap so your kiddo can get an early start! :) If you can send in sugar cookies, frosting, or sprinkles, that would be great! I'll send a sign up link today!
4. Conferences - February 12-14th. There will be a half-day 2/12 and Non-Students Days 2/13 & 2/14.
5. The 100th Day of School is coming up! We will celebrate on February 19th. If your child would like to, they can dress up as their 100 year old self (the kinder teachers will dress up too!).
