We had a great day!
Due to a morning assembly, we didn't have reading group rotations. However, we did spend our time leading up to the assembly talking and learning all about the letter Mm. We even did a little mouse craft connected to the letter Mm.
We were able to go outside for recess with all of our kinder friends. When recess was over, we came inside and did our math lesson. We are starting to look for "hidden partners" in pictures and numbers. This will build the foundation for addition and subtraction fluency. We ended our morning with morning message, calendar, Daily News, and opinion writing.
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, lunch recess, quiet time, music, 5th grade buddies (focusing on questioning in science), afternoon recess, snack, show & share, and free choice.
Important Information:
1. No school tomorrow (10/11). I collected, stuffed, and returned communication folders today.
2. I collected library books today. We have library checkout on Monday.
3. Conferences are next week. The on line schedule closes today.
4. Due to conferences, 10/16 is a half day. We will have lunch at 11:05am and students will be dismissed at 12:45. There will be no school on 10/17 and 10/18.
5. Donuts with Dad is coming up (Friday, Oct. 25). From 8-9am, students can bring their dad (or special guest) to the cafeteria for donuts and pictures in the photo booth. Please remember that students cannot be left unsupervised prior to 9am. When the event is over, students go outside to line up with their classes.
6. Our Halloween Party will be Oct. 31 from 1:20-2:20pm. Then, at 2:30pm, we will meet the whole school in the cafeteria for a Halloween sing-a-long. There will not be a parade this year. Parents are welcome to join the sing-a-long. We have a lead party mom and a few helpers for our class party. If you'd like to join us, please let me know!
7. Just a loving reminder, costumes must be school appropriate (meaning, no weapons, no blood, no guts). First through fifth grades do NOT wear their costumes to school (they change at lunch); however, kindergarten student DO wear their costumes to school. Please let me know if you have any questions!
8. Please make sure your child's transportation tag matches how they'll be going home at the end of the day! Let me know if you need a new tag.
