We had a wonderful day!
We started with morning work and then went right into our lesson about all of us being made unique. One unique thing about each of us is our names. We read the book Chrysanthemum and then made our very own Chrysanthemum.
We were able to go outside for our morning recess. A lot of our kinders played soccer, went on the swings, and attempted the monkey bars.
After recess, we welcomed the APEX crew in for our final lesson. We also chatted about wearing our running shoes tomorrow and layers of clothes (so we're ready for the weather and/or if we get hot). Below is the running schedule for the entire school:
9:45-10:45 (K & 1)
10:50-11:50 (2 & 4)
1:30-2:30 (3 & 5)
If you are volunteering, please come a few minutes before so you can get set up. Remember, you're also welcome to just come and cheer!
After our APEX time today, we did our Happy Camper interview and name book, along with our morning message and calendar time.
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, lunch recess, library, math (sorting), show & share, quiet time, afternoon recess (outside at first and then the rain came, so we finished indoors), free choice, and music.
I hope to see all of you tonight at McTeacher Night! Kindergarten teachers will be working from 4-5pm.
Important Information:
1. Please make sure your child has the appropriate transportation tag on their backpack. Let me know if you need a new one or if you have any questions about them.
2. If your child is having cold lunch and has any nut products in their lunch, please put a note on the outside of their lunch box so we can help direct them to the appropriate table. We know this is an extra step, but it is SO important to help keep all kids safe. Please also tell your child if they have nuts and if they're having cold or hot lunch.
3. McTeacher Night is TONIGHT at McDonalds at the Y. Kinder teachers will be working from 4-5pm. Please join us at this fun event!
4. APEX Fun Run - This is a once a year fundraiser that will take place on September 19th (tomorrow) at 9:45am. This is an incredible event that raises all our PTO funds for the entire year.
5. Picture Day is coming up (September 25)! Please fill out and return the picture form as soon as possible!
6. We have 5th grade buddies this year and will do many amazing projects together. As we prepare for our first project, we are collecting toilet paper tubes. If you have any and can send them in over the next few weeks, we would greatly appreciate it!
