Wednesday News

We had a wonderful day together!
Our day started with an entry task that focused on the word family "it," sight words, and sentence writing. We then went right into reading groups, where students focused on blending, sight words, handwriting, and listening. We were able to go outside and, the kiddos said it felt so warm! 😂 We are very thankful it's not as cold as it has been! After recess, we did our fifth personal safety lesson. During this lesson we learned that we NEVER keep secrets in our families (even if someone tells us to). We also reviewed the touching rule (A person should never touch your private body parts, except to keep you healthy) and the steps to stay safe (recognize, refuse, report). Tomorrow will be our last personal safety lesson.

Once personal safety was done, we continued our conversation about how everyone is unique! We read Elmer the Elephant and did a small craft to go with the idea/book.

Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, centers (see picture attached to email), snack, show & share, quiet time, and free choice.
