Today was a great day!
Even though it is VERY cold outside, the sunshine felt wonderful!
We did our fourth personal safety lesson.
Below are the main teaching points we focused on:
- The Touching Rule: A person should NEVER touch your private body parts, except to keep you healthy (e.g. changing a diaper or going to the doctor). We also said that whenever kids are at the doctor, their parent should ALWAYS be in the room with them!
- Remember The Touching Rule keeps you safe!
- It's never your fault if someone breaks the touching rule. Always tell a trusted adult right away!
- The areas that are covered by your swimming suit are your private body parts (I also named each part).
- We also reviewed what are safe (e.g. high five), unsafe (e.g. hitting), and unwanted touches (e.g. hug) are. Students learned that they can say no to unwanted touches - even though they're safe - they can always say no.
Important Information
1. Communication Folders came home today.
2. Take Home Books were collected, exchanged, and returned today.
3. No School - March 15th
4. Book Fair - March 18-22
5. Grandparent's Day - March 22 (8-9am)
Just a loving reminder that there isn't early childcare provided. Grandparents will need to stay with their grandchild until 9am, at which point students will go outside to line up with their class.
Please pass this information on to grandparents!
