Tuesday News

We had a wonderful day!
We started with our shared read - focusing on title, author, and summarizing. Following shared read, we went right into reading groups. Today during groups, students worked on letter ID, letter sounds, sight words, shared reading, handwriting, and listening. When groups were over, we went outside for recess. Please send your child with a hat, coat, and gloves. It's chilly during our morning recess (hand warmers are also welcome - I will gladly get them open and in your child's gloves, if they need help). After recess, we did a math lesson, looking at which groups had "more." We then went right into our morning message, calendar, and Daily News (shared writing) time. We ended our morning with a new informational writing topic - rainbows. We started reading about them and learned the 7 colors in the rainbow. Tomorrow we will fill out our graphic organizer with our newly learned facts.

Our afternoon was filled with P.E., snack & show and share, 4th grade buddies, quiet time, and free choice.
