Friday News

We had an awesome day!!!

Our day started with a letter Hh activity, followed by reading groups. During groups, students worked on assessments, iPads, letter Hh, blending, handwriting, and listening. After groups, we went outside for recess. When recess was over, we worked on our informational writing. We reviewed what informational writing is, how we write the facts, and how we use the graphic organizer. We then transferred our facts about cats to our final draft paper. When we were done with writing, we made our Hh craft for the week.

Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, PE, snack and show & share, music, quiet time, and free choice.

6. Events Coming Up:
  • The letter Bb is next week and we'll be celebrating with pj's and bears! We call it bear buddy day! Students can bring a small bear (or other letter Bb animal) to school! Bear Buddy day is Wednesday, Jan. 30th!

  • We will celebrate the 100th Day of school on Feb. 11 (Monday). No pressure, but if your child would like to, they are allowed to dress up like their 100 year old self. I will also dress up. :)

  • We will celebrate Valentine's Day on Feb. 12 (Tuesday). We don't have a formal party, but we do pass out Valentines to our friends and we DO write all our friends names on the cards. So, if you'd like to come help us pass out cards and read them, you're more than welcome!
  • I've attached the Valentine's Day list (I'll send home a hard copy next week), if your child would like to get a start on things! ❤ Please also help your child make a Valentine's box at home and send to school on 2/12. *Note: Target has some little kits you can buy that are cute and easy!
