Today we started with a special third grade reader. Ms. Lilly won the Hawk Award drawing and chose to read to our class as her reward. After wishing Lilly a Merry Christmas, we went right into reading groups. The students worked on segmenting sounds, sight words, spelling sight words, and teen numbers. The rest of our morning was filled with gingerbread activities.
We ended our day with a lesson on persevering. We watched the Sandpiper video and learned all about never giving up, even when things are hard.
Lastly, in your child's backpack, there is a letter from Santa. This letter is in response to the letter the kiddos sent him on our field trip.
Important Information:
1. Tomorrow at 1:30pm is our Vanessa Behan assembly. Our kindergarten music teacher (Ms. Maxwell) surprised us by announcing the kindergarten will be singing two short songs tomorrow at the assembly.
