We had a wonderful day!
We started with a shared reading - Follow the Rules to Play Soccer. We talked about what a title is, why rules are important, and reading with expression. We then started reading groups, where students worked on letter ID, letter sounds, reading, handwriting, numbers, and listening. After reading groups, we went outside for recess with our kindergarten friends. Once recess was over, we came inside and did our morning message, calendar, and Daily News. We finished our morning with writing (opinion), and math (finding the hidden partners - eg. 2 and 2 make 4).
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, art, snack, show and share, quiet time, and free choice.
Important Information:
1. Please log in to pick-a-time and schedule your child's October conference.
2. Take Home Books are due tomorrow (please mark whether the book is too easy, too hard, or just right. A new Take Home Book will come home tomorrow.
3. Library books are due tomorrow in their plastic bags.
4. Please tell your child if they are having hot lunch or cold lunch each day. This will help when we do our lunch count. Also, please tell your child if they need to sit at the peanut table (meaning, you packed PB&J or they have items that contain or were processed with nuts). Kinders get very confused and it's difficult to look through every kiddos lunch before they sit down.
5. Below is the link to sign up to help with our school book fair starting October 16th. If you are interested in helping set up/work the book fair please sign up with the link.
