Thank you families for coming to conferences last week, it was great to meet with all of you! I am attaching a couple of pictures of things that we have been working on at school that might be helpful for you and your child at home.
The first is our chicken, giraffe, and monkey letters. When we are working on writing, we ask ourselves if the letter touches the dotted line and the bottom black line (chicken), both the top and bottom black line (giraffe), or the dotted line and hangs off of the edge (monkey). Here is the picture reference that we use.
This is a picture of the letter cards that we use each morning in reading group. We point and say each letter, say it’s sound, and say the picture (Aa, /a/, apple).
Important Information
1. Take home books are in your child’s back pack. Please make sure books are being sent back to school on Monday and Thursday mornings.
2. Communication Folders did not come home today. They will be sent home tomorrow.
3. Our Halloween Party will be Wednesday October 31st from 12:40-1:40.
4. Picture re-takes are Friday November 2nd . Please let me know if you wish for your child to have re-takes or if they were absent the day of pictures and you would like for them to have them taken.
