We had a great day together!
We started our morning with our Happy Camper interview and name book. We then went right into reading groups, where the students worked on letter ID, letter sounds, handwriting, and listening. When reading groups were over, we joined our kinder friends outside for recess. Thank you for sending coats with your kiddos, as it is getting quite a bit colder outside! After recess, we came in and did our morning message and calendar time. We are counting, beginning to learn about place value, and learning the days of the week/months of the year. Today we also finished our opinion writing and added an illustration to go with it. During math, we continued to work on identifying hidden partners and number writing.
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, P.E., snack, show and share, quiet time, music, and free choice.
Important Information:
1. Communication Folders were collected today.
2. Take Home Books are due on Monday (in their plastic bags). Please mark whether the book is too hard, too easy, or just right for your child.
3. No School - October 12th (LID Day for teachers)
4. Conferences are coming up! Conferences are October 17th, 18th, and 19th. The 17th is a half day for students and the 18-19th are both NO SCHOOL days for students! If you haven't yet, please log in to pick a time to schedule your child's conference!
5. Donuts with Dad - October 22nd from 8-9am. Please come and enjoy a donut with your child! Just a loving reminder that there isn't any early drop off or childcare. Please plan on staying with your child until 9am (at which point they will go outside and line up with their class).
6. Our Halloween party will be held on Wednesday, October 31st from 12:40-1:40 in our classroom. Please feel free to join us for any or all of it! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me!
