We had an terrific Thursday!
We began our morning with math morning work with addition practice, representing numbers, and addition with coloring parts in linking cube sticks.
We also got to wish our 4th grade buddies good luck as they begin testing today!

Next, we had morning message, calendar, daily news, and a nice recess outside! Afterwards, we came in and began reading groups. During groups, we did phonics practice with the letter b, sight word practice ("all"), handwriting, and listened to a story.
After reading groups we had math. During math we continued to group objects into a a bundle of 10 and "ones" left over. The students are already smarties with this topic! Next, we had narrative writing. We finished up our narrative story and illustrations and next we are going to begin to create our own narrative stories.
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, library, art-a-balloo (thanks to our art moms we got to make some fun self-portraits focusing on contrast and portraits), snack and show and share, quiet time, recess, and free choice centers!
