Monday News

We had a great Monday!

We began our day with morning work focusing on math equations, number bonds, and numbers before and after. Next, we had calendar, morning message, and daily news. 

Next, we had a nice chilly recess outside. After recess, we had reading groups. During groups, During groups, we introduced our new unit theme (the ocean) and reviewed our sounds, handwriting, the letter "Xx" in our alphabet book, and listened to a story. 

After reading groups we read a story (Berenstain Bears: Trouble with Friends) in which we discussed what we liked about it for our upcoming opinion writing assessment. 

Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, a whole group expository reading lesson, Alpha Tales letter "Xx", PE, quiet time, snack, show and share, and free choice centers!

Please continue to practice the Magic Five! If your child can do all the parts, please practice writing lowercase letters correctly, counting past 100, counting on from a number (not starting at 1), and writing all our sight words. Click the picture below to enlarge.
