We had such a wonderful day!

We started our time together with a Happy Camper interview and a visit from Groovy Gabe (a member of the APEX team). He told us all about our school fundraiser and gave us all the information we'd need. I sent their donation booklets home with them, along with their log in/pledge information. We then transitioned to math, where we focused on sorting things with similar patterns. We were able to go outside for recess and the kiddos had a great time. After recess, we did rotations (focusing on fine motor skills and name writing). We are getting faster at lunch time and are really starting to understand the routine. We ended our day with library, fourth grade buddies, snack, quiet time, and free choice rotations (really working on sharing and saying, "please"). 

Important Information:

1.Please tell your child if they are having hot or cold lunch before they leave each day. We still get very confused about what we're having at lunch, so a little parent support would be great! 

2. When packing your child's healthy snack, please put it in a different part of their backpack (for example, I put my daughter's lunch in the main, big part of her backpack and her snack in the front zipper pocket). This helps your child know what is for lunch and what they should save for snack.

3. Please, please, please make sure that your child's transportation tag matches what they will be doing at the end of the day. Let me know if you have questions or need more support with this. If riding a bus, please make sure your child's bus number is also on their tag.

4. If you haven't yet, please start practicing the magic five. A good piece to start with is counting (1-100) and identifying numbers to 20 (flashcards are in your open house folder). 

5. If you haven't yet, please send $10 cash in for your child's kindergarten shirt. I need to send it in as soon as possible. 

6. Please turn in all school paperwork and the first day question I sent home on Friday. If you can't find the first day question page, please let me know and I can send you a new one.
