Thursday News

We had an awesome day!
Our very first task this morning was writing - transferring our bear facts to our final draft paper. The students independently transferred their writing; adding their picture once they were done writing. I will save this writing task for their memory books. We then welcomed Ms. Wolfe back into our class for our final personal safety lesson. Once personal safety was complete, the students had recess. After recess, the students practiced filling out number bonds, using different manipulatives and pictures. We then transitioned to reading groups. During groups, students worked on sounding out words, the /b/ sound, sight words, handwriting, and listening (Bears to the Rescue). After reading groups, the students finished their bear project that we started yesterday.

Important Information:
1. Take Home Books were exchanged today.

2. Homework folders are due tomorrow.

3. Library books are due tomorrow.

4. We have library, PE, and music tomorrow. Please make sure your child wears shoes they can run in.

5. Bear Buddy Day is tomorrow - Friday, March 10th. Kinders can wear cozy clothes (pj's, sweats, etc.) and bring in a Teddy Bear (or other small stuffed animal) to read with/do activities with.

6.  Just a loving reminder that we have our RAZ Kids subscription. This is a fun way for kinders to practice reading at their level. Please let me know if you have any questions about the program.

7. Our two snow make up days will be March 17th and May 26th.

8. Grandparents Day is March 24th from 8-9am.

9. A letter (on green paper) was sent home this week. We will be making Leprechaun Traps. I'm asking that you help your child return their traps by 3/15. Please know that an empty cereal box will work, as will a fancy, gold trap (there is ABSOLUTELY no pressure with this)! Put as much or as little time as you and your child want to. :)
