We had a wonderful day!
We did our memory book - March page and then welcomed Ms. Wolfe back into our classroom for our third personal safety lesson: Safe and Unsafe Touches. There are three different kinds of touch:
1. safe
2. unsafe
3. unwanted
The students learned the below skills and practiced them.Safe touches make you feel cared for and loved. Hugs, holding hands, and pats on the back are safe touches. Unsafe touches hurt your body. Kicking, hitting, pushing, and pinching are unsafe touches. You can refuse unsafe touched by saying, "Stop. I don't like that. That hurts me." You can also refuse touches you don't want, even if they're safe. Refuse unwanted touches by facing the person touching you and, in a strong voice say, "Please don't touch me." OR "No thank you!" Sometimes you can't stop the unsafe or unwanted touches by yourself. It's important to tell an adult you trust. Adults should take care of you and keep you safe.
We did our calendar and Daily News routine, as well as learned all about the letter Bb (and the sound). We also continued our number bond work in math. We ended our day together with a short video all about bears. We will be studying bears this week for our next informational writing task.
