We had a great day!
We started with a math fluency activity - counting on to make five. We then transitioned to calendar, morning message, and Daily News. After Daily News, I used the Alpha Tale book to introduce the letter Rr and the /r/ sound. The students also tried to guess pictures that start with the /r/ sound.
The snow is finally gone in the field; however, it was raining during our recess time. The kiddos are SO ready for outdoor recess, so hopefully we'll get out there this week! Today, the kiddos did a great job playing together during indoor recess.
After recess, we continued working on informational writing. Instead of finding/writing facts about animals, we wrote an informational paper on how to catch a leprechaun. We ended our day together with math lesson. Specifically, we started taking number bonds and making them into equations.
Important Information:
1. Homework folders came home today.
2. Take Home Books were exchanged today.
3. Just a loving reminder that we have our RAZ Kids subscription. This is a fun way for kinders to practice reading at their level. Please let me know if you have any questions about the program.
4. Our two snow make up days will be March 17th and May 26th.
5. Grandparents Day is March 24th from 8-9am.
6. A letter (on green paper) was sent home this week. We will be making Leprechaun Traps. I'm asking that you help your child return their traps by 3/15. Please know that an empty cereal box will work, as will a fancy, gold trap (there is ABSOLUTELY no pressure with this)! Put as much or as little time in as you and your child want to. :)
