What a great day!
We started our day together with a called Think of Those in Need. We continued to talk about how we can help and bless others, especially over the holidays. I'm honestly in awe of how kind hearted your children are. It's such a gift to hear about all the things your family already does to love others. Ms. Wolfe came in today to teach a social skills lesson. The lesson focused on manners and the students acted out different scenarios to practice. We then transitioned to writing, where the kiddos made/wrote Christmas cards for their family (we will be sending the cards on our field trip from the downtown post office). If you haven't yet, please send one postage stamp (in a labeled baggie) for your child. I'd like to have all the stamps by 12/1. If this is a hardship for your family, please just let me know. We were able to go outside for a snowy recess. The kinders loved playing in the snow! After recess, we did our regular calendar and Daily News routine.
We then read the story, The Christmas Wish and made our own wishing stars (the stars will be part of the Winter Extravaganza decorations).
Important Information:
1. Homework folders came home today. Please note, there is not a daily news/sentence page this week. There is just a math page and reading. Remember, we have RAZ kids and that's another great tool for practice!
2. Take Home Books were exchanged today!
3. Please sign and return the yellow permission slip ASAP! If you haven't yet, please also let me know if your child will be ordering a sack lunch from the kitchen. In addition, will you also include whether or not your child will be going home with you from the park and ride OR being dismissed from Prairie View at 3:20pm.
4. On December 8th, if you are picking up your child from Prairie View, they will be dismissed outside against the brick wall (gym wall).
5. The kindergarten students DO NOT participate in the Winter Extravaganza. We will do a spring concert.
