What a beautiful day!
We started our class time with a math fluency activity. The students either had to identify the "whole" or the two "parts" that made the whole. We then transitioned to reading groups, where the kiddos worked on segmenting sounds, blending, identifying the last sound in a word, their ABC books (Xx page), handwriting (Xx), and listening (Goldie Locks Has Chicken Pox). After groups, we went outside for a glorious recess in the sun. When we came back inside, the students worked hard on their math lesson (making ten in different ways using rekenreks). The students are doing a wonderful job showing their math thinking! We then moved on to calendar and Daily News. Lastly, both classes had a bit of time for free choice.
