We had a great day together!
We started our time together with a math fluency activity (making five). We then did reading groups, where kiddos worked on segmenting sounds, identifying and writing initial sounds, the sight word "you", handwriting and decoding, and listening (Bear Feels Scared). After groups, we had a great recess outside! Once recess was over, we did our calendar and Daily News routine. We then transitioned to writing - continuing to transfer our facts to our final draft paper. Tomorrow we will add our illustrations (I'm sure they'll be adorable)! Lastly, we moved on to math. The students are becoming quite proficient with number bonds, so we started using the term "adding" and "altogether" in preparation for our next few math lessons.
Important Information:
1. Grandparents Day is March 18th from 8:15-9:00am for both AM and PM kinders!
2. February 25th, the PV Drama club presents Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The play will be performed from 10-11am (AM K-3rd grade), 1:30-2:30pm (PM K and 4-6th grades), and an evening showing at 6:30pm.
3. Due to the drama performances, we will not have reading groups on Thursday, February 25th.
4. We have art this Friday (2-26-16).
5. Tomorrow is the book exchange. Please send your child's book in their plastic envelope!
