Happy (sunny) Day!
We started our time together with math fluency practice (making six). We then transitioned to reading groups where kiddos worked on decoding, picture sorting using initial sounds, ABC books (Rr), handwriting (Rr), and listening (Dooby Dooby Moo).
After groups, we went outside for a sunny recess. We then came in and did our calendar and Daily News routine. Next, we moved on to writing, where we continued our informational writing about baby elephants (calves). We talked about the importance of having a title. For example, one of our first facts is that babies are called calves. If we didn't include a title (Baby Elephants), then most people would assume we're writing about cows. After writing, the students completed a math assessment on number bonds. They did a beautiful job! We did have some time for puzzles at the end of the day.
Important Information:
1. Grandparents Day is March 18th from 8:15-9:00am for both AM and PM kinders!
2. February 25th, the PV Drama club presents Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The play will be performed from 10-11am (AM K-3rd grade), 1:30-2:30pm (PM K and 4-6th grades), and an evening showing at 6:30pm.
3. Due to the drama performances, we will not have reading groups on Thursday, February 25th.
4. We have art this Friday (2-26-16).
