We had a great day!
We started our day with an "O" activity. The kinders made hats that had different Oo pictures and will be bringing them home tomorrow. We then transitioned to reading groups where the kinders worked on phoneme segmentation, decoding, reading, making an O book, handwriting, and listening. After groups, we had another indoor recess. Once recess was over, we did our calendar and Daily News routine. After a quick break, we moved on to math, where the kinders played a greater than/less than dice game with a partner. Finally, we ended our day with a read aloud from our Anthology book - The Three Little Kittens. We talked about new vocabulary (mitten, naughty, soiled) and what a nursery rhyme typically includes (short sentences and rhyming). During the read aloud, the students listened for rhyming words and they shared their findings after the reading.

2. Library Books are due tomorrow (1/22).
3. Our Valentine's Day party will be on Friday, February 12th. Our AM class has a lead party mom; however, we still need a PM lead party mom (or dad). Please let me know if you can join us! More information and class lists will be coming home soon.
4. RAZ Kids and IXL are on line for all kiddos to access. Please remember, the programs do not replace our HW packet.
5. The 100th Day of school is February 19th. We will have a little celebration and some fun 100th Day activities.
6. Grandparents Day is March 18th from 8:15-9:00am.
