Happy Thursday!
We started our day with some Say Ten Push Ups (ten and one - eleven; ten and two, twelve). We then did reading groups, where the kiddos worked on segmenting sounds, sorting according to the /p/, /t/, and /i/ sound, sight words, and listening (The Three Snow Bears). After reading groups, we went outside for a soggy recess. :) We then transitioned to our calendar and Daily News. After reviewing our Daily News and what a sentence needs to have, we moved on to math. We did a review of measurement and continued to compare the lengths of different items. Finally, we ended our day with a little field trip surprise for all of you! :)
Important Information:
1. I apologize, the Take Home Books were not exchanged today. I will exchange and send them home tomorrow.
2. Homework is due tomorrow (12-4). Please remind your kiddo that we will be sharing our homework tomorrow and to do their very best work. Please remember to mark your child's homework behavior. It's very helpful and allows me to support you and your child.
3. The kindergarten field trip is ALL DAY on December 10th! Please sign and return the blue permission slip, along with $10 cash as soon as possible! On the permission slip, please mark whether your child needs medication and whether or not you'll be taking your child from the park and ride at the end of the day OR if your child will ride the school bus back up to Prairie View.
4. Christmas Break is December 21-January 1. School resumes on January 4th.
5. AM kinders have library tomorrow!
6. We have art tomorrow. Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately!
7. We have music and P.E. tomorrow!
8. Please send your child in long pants, coats, gloves, boots, and hats. It's very cold outside and we will continue to go outside, even as the snow comes. Below are the district cold weather guidelines:
1. Students will have morning access to their school buildings when the temperature (with wind chill) is below 16 degrees.
2. Recess will be in-doors when the temperature (with wind chill) is below 16 degrees.
3. Please make sure children are equipped and appropriately dressed for cold weather. Coats, hats, and gloves are recommended to assure students remain warm and comfortable while outside.
