Thursday News

Even though it rained outside, the sun was shining in kindergarten!

We started our day with our new letters Ee (/e/ sound) and Ff (/f/ sound). After practicing how to write both letters, we went over to the calendar area to listen to our Happy Camper interview and then made our Happy Camper book. After Happy Camper, we cut out and glued letters to our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees. We then transitioned to calendar where we focused counting, place value, months of the year, days of the week, and our tens frame (a frame with ten boxes inside). We also worked on our Daily News and read the "I" book. Finally, we did a math lesson that focused on sorting groups of things based on the number of objects in each group.

Important Information:
1. Our cookie dough fundraiser starts tomorrow (9/18/15). We are hoping that all families will participate, as this is our main fundraiser for our school.  2. Picture Day is next Friday (9/25/15). You will find a picture order envelope in your child's homework folder. Homework folders go home on Monday (9/21/15).
3. The volunteer calendar is done and posted to the blog; however, we will not start reading groups until Tuesday (9/29/15). This is due to a scheduling issue. If you volunteer for the take home book on Mondays and Thursdays or the Friday prep, those will be starting next week (9/21/15).
4. Homework and Take Home Books will also start next week (9/21/15).
5. If you have not yet put the yellow transportation tag on your child's backpack, please do that tonight. It so helpful and important that we know how your child will be getting home.    6. If you haven't turned in all your school forms, please do so asap! Thanks!
7. We have music and P.E. tomorrow. Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes. No flip flops, please!
