Tuesday News

We had a wonderful day!

We started with our shared reading of Pat's Amazing Pet. We focused on making inferences and predictions, identifying punctuation and their purpose, and reading with expression. We then went right into our reading group time, where students worked on letter ID, letter sounds, reading, our essential question (Why do people tell stories?), shared reading, handwriting, and listening. After groups, we went outside for a chilly, but fun recess.

Tonight, with your child, will you please have them practice putting on their warm clothes (by themselves) in this order:
1. hat on
2. coat on and zipped
3. gloves on

We will continue to go outside in the cold weather! Please consider sending sweatshirts, coats, hats, gloves, and scarves.

After recess, we did our morning message, calendar, and Daily News routine. We then transitioned to a memory book activity. Once we were finished, we moved right into math. We focused on measurement and how we measure things. We then practiced our new skills with a measurement write the room activity.

Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, P.E., social skills, snack & show and share, quiet time, a review of our PBIS expectations (reviewing our school rules), and free choice.

Important Information:
