Tuesday News

We had a great day together!
We started with our shared reading of Sad Ladybug, Glad Ladybug. We worked on questioning, careful reading, and reading with expression. We then moved right into reading groups, where students worked on letter ID, letter sounds, decoding, sight words, annotating text, handwriting, and listening. When groups were over, we went outside for a chilly, but fun recess! Thank you for sending your child with a coat! Gloves and hats are also appreciated, as the weather gets cooler! After recess, we came inside and did our morning message (focusing on the letter Ss, the /s/ sound, and our sight words: the, we).  We also did our calendar and Daily News time. During math, we worked on counting the set, adding one more, and then counting the total. In addition, we focused on writing our numbers 0-10, especially the formation and direction of the numbers.

Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, P.E., quiet time, fourth grade buddies, snack, show & share, and free choice.
