We had a wonderful day together!
We started our day a bit differently than normal - our OT came in and did a handwriting screen for all our kindergarten students. When the assessment was over, we did our morning message, calendar, and Daily News.
We weren't able to go outside for our first recess, as it was raining very hard. However, the kiddos still enjoyed themselves playing hot potato, legos, babies, and much more!
We went right into reading groups after recess; where the kiddos worked on our special grandparent writing, number bonds, handwriting, and listening.
After groups, we did a write the room activity with our sight words. While students were working independently on this activity, I pulled them one at a time to make their special grandparent gift (which will be given on Grandparents Day).
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, personal safety (lesson #3), music, snack, show and share, quiet time, and free choice centers.
